Dan Fogelberg died of cancer today. Only 56 years old. Younger than my parents.
Yes, Dan Fogelberg was a little before my time, but whenever I went anywhere with my Dad, this is the kind of music we listened to. One reason being that my Dad kinda liked it, and another being that he drove a 1970 GMC pickup that only had AM radio. "The Leader of the Band" is one of those songs I'll always love. Just like "Cracklin Rosie" by Neil Diamond, or "Fernando" by ABBA, or "American Pie" by Don McLean. Hanging with my daddy kinds of songs.
