If I could fill your stocking...

Stockings (B calls them "socks") are probably my favorite part of Christmas Day.

In my family they were the first things to open and often had the most fun things inside. Fancy lip gloss, fun bubble bath, maybe a book or a CD, sometimes jewelry, always a favorite candy. Two special stocking memories: a Swatch Watch

(remember those?), and tix to Phantom of the Opera. B is great about filling my sock with little luxuries and sweets I never buy for myself, but now most of my thrills come from filling the stockings for my guys. B likes: fancy olives, pistachios, cool pens, foo-foo men's grooming products he'd never admit to liking, candy, candy and more candy. M will be overjoyed with anything wheeled, anything sweet, and anything "ball." Or maybe just a new roll of toilet paper.

If I were filling stockings for all the cool chicas in my life I'd include things like:

Fun lip gloss, maybe like this

Hair doo-dads like this or like this

Burts Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream (always available at Target)

Something fun and pretty like these or these

Toblerone Chocolate Bars

And Dental Floss. Nothing personal, this is simply the only time of year I remember to buy it, and I always received it in my own stocking. Therefore, into all stockings it goes.
