Little Red Gems

Approximately one gazillion of these beauties became freezer jam, breakfast syrup, and smoothie fixins at my house over the weekend. An attempt to bottle up the happy sunshine and store it up for winter. I love to see my little jars filled with bright red shiny sweetness. Strawberries are indeed among my most favorite things about summer. With sugar or brown sugar. On Grape Nuts or Shredded Wheat. In spinach salad. On cheesecake or pound cake or angel food cake. In homemade jam. On waffles and pancakes and crepes. In smoothies and ice cream and chocolate. Absolutely plain.

Well, that looks yummy! Our strawberries were moldy last night! ICK! So, 'hot-dog-o' is from GLORY ROAD, and the 'you don't want to fall in love' is from SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE. Aren't you from there? I can't believe you would miss that. My brother's wife's family had a houseboat right next to where they filmed the movie, so that's my Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon like one degree of separation game for today!

that looks so good! Bear Lake is so fun. It kinda depends on where you stay and what you bring though. We stay at the sweetwater resort and they have have a lot of grassy area to play games plus a pool. We also bring our scooters and our boat so that takes up a lot of time. So I would say bike rides and hikes are the best to do in the summer. There is a beautiful hike to Bloomington lake. I'm not positive how to get there but I'm sure you could ask at a gas station. It is so pretty and it has a giant rope swing. We rented jet skis once and that was the funnest thing I have ever done there. You can rent them at sweet water as well. (the brown condos). Raspberry shakes are always good too. Ummm...We just spend time outside and bring card games for night. You will have a lot of fun. Let me know if you have more questions.
