Ever been boo'd?

No, not off a stage (ooh, have you?) but by festive neighbors in the Halloween spirit? Getting boo'd is apparently all the rage in my neighborhood. A neighbor "anonymously" delivered super cute sugar cookies to our doorstep recently, with a fun little note and cute paper ghost. The note explained the game, and the picture was to hang in our front window. Our tasks? Enjoy the cookies, then choose 2 families and share a special treat with them. Anonymously. We were a little behind in getting our deliveries out, but it's done now and there are 2 more windows with happy little ghosts. And hopefully happy people because we shared these:

Pretty cute, eh? Should have made a double batch because they are quite tasty.
Interested in "booing" your neighbors? Here's the little ditty that goes along with the paper ghost and the treats:
It all started with a little BOO
A knock upon the door and off they flew!
Halloween is almost here, the leaves are flying by
The pumpkins are ripe, there's a witch in the sky!
Wee ghostie came by the light of the moon
Put him in your window, it's not too soon!
Choose 2 families and make a treat to share. Make a copy of the ghostie and send it along, too. Put your ghostie in the window for others to see.
There are sure to be several versions of this floating around. Use any you like!

I have actually been wanting to try these! I was planning on taking them to a work Halloween potluck. Super cute with the sprinkles! Which cookie method did you use, cake mix or from scratch?

That is so funny that you would post about this.... This happened to us last night. The poem is a little different in our neighborhood but same concept... Fun times and good treats!

Well, I did my booing last night with bags of tootsie rolls and suckers. Way to make me look not-so-cool in the neighborhood department!

Way cute treats. I'm also wondering what cookie method you used. Maybe I'll start the ghost in our neighborhood.

Ladies: if you know me, you know that I went with the cake mix method. Equally yummy, much less work and much less mess. One batch gets about 20 whole cookies (remember you need 2 chocolate cookies to make 1 whole oreo). I say double the batch.
