My mother recently sent to me the copy of this book that I tirelessly enjoyed as a child. It's filled with short stories, poems and funny illustrations about familiar objects and situations (manners, numbers, trains, etc.). I've been sharing it with M, who is especially fond of any pages with tools ("tooos?"). These same pages were the only means by which he calmed down after a recent traumatic locked-in-the-bathroom experience. Won't you feed Hilda Hippo her ABCs?

Richard Scarry's books are great...such an imagination. I must say though that some of them are rather long. I'm glad that M is liking them. A loved the one about the things that go, we also had a counting one, it was the LONGEST book ever to read to a 2 year old.
Love, love love Richard Scarry.
one of Jack's (and my) favorites.
