In the spirit of actually getting out and about more as the weather (hopefully) thaws, I'm exploring new activities here in this pretty little town along the Snake River. First stop: the library. Idaho Falls has a nice little library downtown. It's spacious, friendly and seems to have a sizable collection, a large children's section, plus a koi pond on the main level. (M does NOT understand that we can't actually touch the fish...) My favorite thing: the statue of Billy and his beloved dogs from "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls, who called this town his home. The book itself is timeless; a must-read for grade-schoolers and grown-ups alike.

Good for you! I need to get out and explore my town as well.
This is sooo bad but in the 4 years that I have lived here...I have never been to the library! I think it's about time:)
