stocking up--on a budget

I always seem to be in purge-and-stock-up mode at the first of the year. This includes an annual ridding my bathroom cabinets of too many mostly-empty hodge-podge products. In an effort to simplify my life (and respect a smaller budget), I've searched the local drugstore for affordable, easy-to-find, effective products.

Some of my tried and true:

Cetaphil Facial Cleanser--it's mild but it works!
Dove Moisturizer with SPF--works year round, not heavy
Johnson & Johnson Baby Wash--We all use it!
Lubriderm Body Lotion--highly effective, I buy it at Costco.
Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Cream-- a miracle worker. I've been known to apply it to my feet & ends of my hair.
Vaseline--salvation to dry feet...I have a little ritual, email me if you're interested.
L'Oreal True Match powder--I apply with a brush so it's light
Neutrogena Clear Lipgloss (for shine)
L'Oreal Eye Shadows--often mentioned in InStyle's Best Beauty Buys issue

Nicole by OPI nailcolor--not much cheaper than the mother brand, but much easier to come by (Right now I'm loving stolen kisses)

My occassional splurges:
Body butter from the Body Shoppe
Mac lip-liner in spice (It's my favorite...perfect under the Neutrogena gloss!)
Burts Bees coconut foot cream
Philosophy "Hope in a Jar" moisturizer

I haven't had much success with hair styling products--any suggestions beauty queens?

Frizz Ease has a love spray that tames frizzies and fly aways - love it!

And thanks for the ideas. I cleaned out my bathroom a few weeks ago as I tend to try new things and then keep them even if I don't care for them.

Redken has a wonderful shampoo that makes my hair so soft. I can't remember the exact name but it comes in an orange bottle. It's easy to find. I love it!

I love the Matrix straight look shampoo and conditioner. Thanks for this post because I love to hear what works for other people. Those are the best reviews!

your cousin is Jenny, as in Jenny G*? how old is your little guy?

BTW, I love Burts cuticle cream and chapstick. Bag Balm is also really good for feet and lips.

I don't know what your hair texture is like but mine is fine & thin, and my SALVATION is Aveda's Sap Moss Spray. It texturizes and thickens my hair.I absolutely can't live without it.
