Whoever said "let it snow..."

...clearly had no place to go. 8 inches and still going strong. It made for a beautiful glittering white Christmas, but now I'm pretty much done with all the drifts and ice and slippery roads and cold toes. My cute neighbor said she hasn't checked the mail since last week!

Some shots of M Christmas Morning:
Christmas, just the 3 of us, was very nice. A lazy, quiet day watching M play with his new basketball and hoop, and crawl in and out of little tunnels-n-tents, happy as could be. The moment he laid eyes on his basketball, he walked straight to the hoop and dropped it in. B has never had a prouder moment, and is convinced that our 15 month old is a natural. He's already planning our trip to the NCAA final four in 2025. ;)  Anyway, M's been shooting hoops almost non-stop ever since, save for a few breaks to cruise his tunnels-n-tents. He insisted on taking the basketball to bed with him.

Brrrrrr! Since Mother Nature probably doesn't care what I think about the weather (for the record, I think it sucks), we've opted to make the best of it: chili, hot cocoa, flannel sheets, and a bit of sledding. B did all the hard work while I held M snugly (in what I counted as 6 layers of clothing) on the sled. Whee! It was great fun, but short-lived since 8 degrees is just too cold to spend much time out doors. It's actually so cold that the snow that was on our car when we pulled into the garage 2 days ago is still on our car. We've realized that it's time to invest in proper gear for the elements here. Moon Boots anyone?

Hello long lost friend! It took me a moment to figure out it was you....someone from my past. Urr...is that good or bad? Definitely good. Your baby is beautiful. I'm glad you found my blog, it's such an easy and great way of keeping in touch.
