I should be doing a million things other than bloggity blogging. M is down for his morning nap, which is typically my best opportunity to shower and do my hair. Then I should do the breakfast dishes, and a load of laundry. Then I should do some more laundry or return some phone calls. When M wakes up we usually have play time together or run errands. I've decided today, though, that there aren't any errands that simply must be done. No mission-critical housework to do. I'll tidy up while M sleeps, but I think that I'd rather today were all about the 2 of us playing and reading and snuggling. The snuggles are fewer and further between than they used to be. Better stock up while I can!

what I should be doing
I doubt very much that one day I'll regret not having run more errands or emptied the clothes hamper more frequently. I may, regret, however, not taking advantage of this stay-at-home-mommy role by enjoying my precious moments with my little guy. M is at a stage where he is learning, trying and doing so many things, and the interaction with him is priceless. Not to mention it's very risky to let him out of sight for 5 seconds, the little toddling tornado.
He deludes that he can walk down the stairs instead of scoot down on his belly, feet first like a proper toddler. Our safety gate doesn't attach to the top step because of the mill posts, so we have to set it about 4 steps down. He stands at the top, with his toes over the edge, just thinking: "If I just move one foot down..." Yikes!
