great gift idea #2

Amaryillis are so stunning, and so easy to care for. My grandmother loved them at this time of year, but they make a great gift for almost anyone: friends, sisters, co-workers, mother-in-law, teacher. The photo shows a kit from Restoration Hardware (also a great place for stocking stuffers), but I've seen some at Home Depot, Lowes, Target ranging from $5-$25, depending on the pot. Or just buy the bulbs and plant them yourself in a pretty cachepot tied with a pretty ribbon. I'm thinking of arranging 3 of them across the top of my piano, just can't decide which variety!
