Clutter: it's negative energy and I have a very low threshold for it, be it visual, physical, audible, mental or emotional. I am happiest with order in my life. I don't really do knick-knacks. I rejoice in organizing the pantry and don't anyone dare pile mail and papers on my kitchen counter. Clutter is one of the [many] reasons I dislike WalMart. I make lists as therapy to de-clutter my mind. It puzzles me that some people just don't understand the concept of editing their lives---like tossing out the junk mail or letting go of a grudge. It's the healthy thing to do! Some people are so overcome with clutter, clinging to every little physical or emotional detail that they project the excess onto their loved ones in various ways, as if to say "If I have to carry baggage, then so do you, otherwise you don't care about me." I'm still searching for a way to handle this delicately, to protect my environment and my happiness without inviting their negativity. So far, I've just conceded to carry the baggage, which seems easiest, but in the end just breeds resentment, which is just more clutter. (Sigh). It's a never ending cycle, I realize, as I stare at the latest bestowal encroaching on my territory. Dr. Phil are you out there? ;)
