Saturdays have been precious to me for many years. So precious that I often hesitated to share them with other people or obligations. When I was working full time (and then some), Saturdays were a day entirely for me...to work out, to take an extra long shower, to do laundry, to shop, and to get dressed up and go out. Now I treasure my Saturdays because it's a day without commitments to anyone but ourselves; the 3 of us get to spend the whole day together. Lately that means we spend the morning at the local farmer's market, do a little shopping, then come home and put M down for a nap! While he sleeps we turbo-charge the housework and yardwork. Later, usually, we get take out. After M has his bath and is tucked in, we have the clean house to ourselves and enjoy a little treat together then maybe watch an old movie or, like tonight, a ball game (Go Red Sox). Saturdays are by far my most productive day...perhaps because B is home all day so we can tag-team our busy little munchkin. I think the productivity is what makes me love my Saturdays so much. Or maybe the togetherness. But mostly the productivity.
